
Ruhalaya Major Seminary celebrated its Home Day on Sunday, 23 November 2025. This year’s celebration featured an exclusive stage drama based on the Biblical figure Moses, offering a powerful and inspiring experience for everyone present. The Chief Guest for the event was His Excellency Mar Tony Neelankavil. The programme also included addresses by His Grace Mar Sebastian Vadakkel and Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Thekkekarott.
Ruhalaya College of Philosophy was officially declared as an Ecclesiastical Institute of Higher Studies and affiliated to the Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical Athenaeum, Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram, Bengaluru. The solemn event was graced by His Excellency Most Rev. Thomas Mar Eusebius (Bishop of Parasala), who also delivered a lecture on “The Notion of Truth at the Service of Unity.” His Grace Mar Sebastian Vadakel presided over the function, while His Excellency Mar James Athikalam (Bishop of Sagar) felicitated the gathering. The official declaration was made by Very Rev. Dr. Mathew Attumkal CMI (President, Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram). Rev. Dr. George Kulangara CMI (Dean, Faculty of Philosophy) extended his felicitations.
To mark the occasion, Rev. Dr Thomas Kannany delivered a scholarly lecture titled “Echoes of the Infinite: Cosmology and the Human Pursuit of Transcendence.” A commemorative volume titled Frontiers of Transcendence: Explorations into Science, Philosophy, Art, and Theology , edited by Rev. Dr Veenus Karamullil MST, was released.
Ruhalaya Major Seminary conducted Diakonia 2K25, the Mission Fest celebrated in a spirit of love and joy for mission. It was inaugurated by Very Rev. Fr. Vincent Kadalikkattilputhenpura, the Director General of MST, and proved to be a grand success with the enthusiastic participation of numerous people from in and around Ujjain.
The 19th edition of the Maliparambil Lectures was held on the theme “Primacy of Proclamation and Community Formation in Evangelization.” The session was led by Most Rev. Chacko Thottumarickal SVD, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Indore.
On the occasion of Independence Day and the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, Fr. Deepu Kollakombil offered the Holy Qurbana, after which Sr. Elda MC hoisted the national flag and delivered an inspiring Independence Day message.
Ruhalaya joyfully celebrated New Priests’ Day 2025 with great enthusiasm and gratitude. Fifteen esteemed alumni of Ruhalaya participated in the celebration, adding warmth and pride to the occasion. The Chief Guest of the day was His Excellency Mar Peter Rumal Khardi, Bishop of Jhabua, who delivered an inspiring and heartfelt message to the newly ordained priests. His words offered guidance, encouragement, and spiritual insight as they begin their priestly ministry.
The Academic Year 2025 was solemnly inaugurated by His Grace Mar Andrews Thazhath, Archbishop of Thrissur and President of the CBCI, in the esteemed presence of His Grace Mar Sebastian Vadakkel, Archbishop of Ujjain, along with other distinguished dignitaries. The inauguration, held as a continuation of the morning’s solemn Rasa Qurbana, unfolded into a vibrant celebration. The event was enriched with a series of cultural performances and meaningful felicitation speeches, adding colour, joy, and inspiration to the occasion.
On the day of the Feast of St Thomas, Rasa was offered by His Grace Mar Andrews Thazth, the Abp of Trichur and the CBCI President.
In the august presence of His Excellency Bishop Mar Sebastian Vadakel, Very Rev. Fr. Vincent Kadalikkattilputhenpura, Very Rev. Fr. Pauly Maniyattu, Very Rev. Fr. Manoj Parackal, Rev. Fr. John Kudiyiruppil, and other dignitaries, His Beatitude Mar Raphael Thattil officially declared Ruhalaya to be the Ruhalaya Institute of Theology at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
